GHMC holds Rangoli competition to educate voters on choosing right candidates at ballot box

Hyderabad: As part of various initiatives to create awareness on the importance of vote and to cast their valuable vote to elect right representative to get good government, the GHMC today conducted Rangoli competition among the students and women at Necklace road to divert the attention of the citizens from the daily routine work for their active participation in the elections to cast their vote.

The GHMC with the help of UCD wing under chairmanship of Harichandana, GHMC Addl Commissioner, UCD conducted the Rangoli show where women, students, physically challenged, SHGs and many others attended the competition for which the GHMC will present awards to the best performer as a token of encouragement to the citizens.

GHMC Commissioner and DEO Dana Kishore said since the last three days BLOs training was going on in all the 15 Assembly constituencies and from November 25 all the BLOs, along with Booth Level Agents will conduct the meetings where the volunteers from RWAs will also coordinate to distribute voter slips and EPIC cards door to door and according to ROs scheduled program they will visit area wise to take up the distribution sharing the same with the political parties to have clear knowledge of the distribution process.
The DEO said EPIC cards are also ready for distribution and a color booklet was being distributed to all the 10 lakh families at their doorstep with the help of the BLOs and others to know how to vote with the help of EVMs/ VVPATs to have a clear idea for their participation to cast their vote. The aim was to increase polling percentage as per the directions of the EC. The DEO also said with regard to webcasting, some 5,000 students have been organized to perform duties on the poll day.
