GHMC officials, citizens celebrate”Wet & Dry Waste Divorce Day”

The GHMC officials along with various residential welfare associations, NGOs, public representatives and corporators today celebrated
”Wet & Dry Waste Divorce Day” as a part of Valentine’s Day in most of the GHMC circle offices, zones and so on. The programs were arranged in the parks and various important junctions to create awareness among the citizens about segregation of dry and wet garbage.

Public representatives, corporators and GHMC officials interacted with the residential welfare associations about the importance of segregation of waste. As directed by the GHMC Commissioner, the officials requested the citizens and NGOs to download “Swachh Dooth App” on top priority and send an SMS on important points of “Swachh Survekshan”. The citizens were also informed that teams of Swachh Survekshan survey would visit all the 150 GHMC wards and coordinate with citizens t for proper response.

The Commissioner appealed to the students, citizens to dial 1969 and give a missed call and help Hyderabad to bag top position. He also informed the citizens that they will get a call back and they need to answer the questions correctly to be in the top position in Swachh Survekshan 2018. Rallies, meetings, human chains and so on have been conducted as a part of Wet & Dry Waste Divorce Day. (NSS)
