A case of land grabbing at GHMC Park has come to limelight in Golapally of Serilingampally Division wherein the miscreants are making an attempt to construct a temple on it.
GHMC officials and police officers gave them ample time for removing the unauthorized religious structure but the miscreants are trying to change the temporary structure into a permanent one.
It may be mentioned that survey numbers 209(p), 212, 213, 233, 235 (p), 236, 237, 239 and 240 fall under the Diamond Heights Colony. The illegal possessors installed an idol and later constructed a room on the land allocated for the park. When GHMC officials came to know of it, they sent a squad to dismantle it. The miscreants were given one week’s time but they did not dismantle it. Police officers also visited the spot and gave them one more week’s time during which period a room was constructed, a priest was appointed and pooja started.
A professor of the University of Hyderabad, Jalipettiseri told that due to this, peaceful atmosphere of the colony is likely to be shattered. He requested the authorities to maintain this land for park and to remove the unauthorized construction.
Mehboob Pasha, G. Satyanarayan Babu, Surya and other residents of the colony told the media persons that in the colony many temples have been constructed and attempts are being made to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the locality.
Dy. Commissioner of GHMC, Ms. V. Mamata told that GHMC officials visited the spot along with police officers.
The case is pending with the police. GHMC is awaiting the action to be taken by the police.
