Girl abducted, raped; outfits demand to seal madrasa

New Delhi: An 11-year-old girl who had gone missing since April 21 was “rescued” from a madrasa in Sahidabad. She was allegedly abducted and raped by a 17-year-old youth. A day after her rescue local outfits staged a protest outside Ghazipur police station and demanded that the madrasa be sealed.

The girl was tracked down by a team of Ghazipur Police. A 17-year-old juvenile has been arrested in this connection. He is booked under sections of kidnapping and the POCSO Act.

Various outfits, led by Akhand Bharat Morcha president Sandeep Ahuja, demanded that the Maulvi at the madrasa be arrested as well and the madrasa is sealed. The girl is currently at a shelter for women and will undergo the second examination.
