Girls’ school burnt down by terrorists in Chitral

Chitral [Pakistan]: In a tragic incident, a government-run primary girls’ school was burnt by so-called terrorists in Chitral district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to reports from local sources, the school was later blown up by terrorists and the building has been completely destroyed. It was the only primary school for girls in the area.

The area adjoining Gilgit Baltistan is falling directly in the route of the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

As per the reports, the terrorists also planted an IED en-route to the boy’s school in the area.
Six years since the attack on Malala and almost four years since the Army Public School attack, schools in Pakistan are still not safe from jihadist militants.

In August, at least 12 girls’ schools were attacked in Chilas, about 130 kilometers from Gilgit.

Unidentified men attacked 12 girls’ schools across Diamer district and damaged school property.

Same strategy was adopted while attacking schools in Chitral.
