Give Re 1 daily and we’ll give you a University: Empower India Trust

Shahabuddin Yaqub, the editor-in-chief of NewsNexxt interviews Mohammad Khalid Khan, who worked as a former joint secretary at Rajya Sabha Secretariat for 33 years and then instead of leading an easy life, made his goal to work towards the education of Muslims.

Khan, who is also the chairman of Empower India Trust has tried his best making Muslim Leadership especially religious leadership realise the potential of Indian Muslims, and started to inspire many.

Khan says what he does in 33 years of his career was for his own good but then he went on to do something for the community for which he first established a Trust and got it registered. Meanwhile, “We did preliminary work with the team. We also visited UP’s Kasganj, Ganjunwada and realised that in these areas, the community is educationally backward up to a great extent.”

“On our visit to these places, we found that people there wanted to get education and we started getting a good response,” says Khan. To accomplish a big mission, “We need land as well as resources, our team is looking out for means that can help our aim to get fulfilled, the says Khan.

On being asked how will a University be established with limited resources, Khan says: “The team of Empower India Trust calculated the expenses and found that if people on a daily basis give one rupee to us, we will construct the University after five years.”

“Then we will lead this procedure further and keep on building Universities for our community,” he says. Adding that people who would like to become a member or a volunteer would be able to do so with the help of online services. Khan believes that this mission can become widespread in the entire country to serve the people.
