Goenka Group to invest Rs 200 cr: KTR

Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said that RP Sanjeev Goenka Group has agreed to invest Rs 200 cr in Telangana by setting up an industry at Tupran in Siddipet district. KTR who is on a single day tour to Kolkata the capital city of West Bengal has closeted with several noted industrialists and urged them to invest in food processing, infrastructure and help farmers market their products.

The minister appealed to Goenka Group to help farmers in the state in food processing and packaging and get better benefits through marketing. The minister explained the government industrial policy giving all permissions in just 15 days and encouragement for the businesses to grow in Telangana. Shreyi Infra Company has agreed to set up food parks and industrial parks besides making efforts to bring foreign companies to invest in the state he said. Shreyi Company Chairman Hemanth Kanoria also assured to bring a team of Japan, China and Korea to invest in Telangana and hold a meeting on investments in Hyderabad soon. KTR informed that the government gives priority to manufacturing sector with necessary help if the companies come up with investments. IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan was present. (NSS)
