Gold worth Rs 1 crore seized at Shamshabad airport

Hyderabad: Sleuths at Shamshabad international airport on Wednesday seized huge consignments of foreign gold. It was recovered from a traveler by the airport staff. It was found that the gold belongs to UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait.

The officials said the market value of the gold was over Rs 1 crore in the open market. The passenger was identified as Md Pavez. On the other hand, the officials from Vizag also seized huge amount of gold from Gauhati-Secunderabad Express. The gold seized weighed 3,314 gram worth Rs 1.89 crore. The DRI officials said the gold was smuggled from Myanmar.
