California [United States], December 11 (ANI): Google has discovered another bug in its soon-to-shut social network Google+ which reportedly exposed user data from 52.5 million accounts.
The company had announced back in October that it would shut down the service in August 2019 because of a bug that had exposed 500,000 users’ data for about three years. However, the latest discovery suggests Google should have shut down the service sooner.
According to Wired, Google fixed the new-found bug in the last month and claims that there is no evidence on the data misuse during that time. However, the company has now decided to terminate the service by April and cut off access to Google+ API in 90 days.
Although the new bug did not witness misuse of the data, the flaw gave the ability to extract large amounts of information such as email addresses and profile data. [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
