Government worried as there is no drop in triple talaq incidents

New Delhi: Although the government has passed an ordinance to put a curb on Triple Talaq incidents but the bill is still pending in Rajya Sabha. Though the Muslim organisations also feel that Muslims should avoid triple talaq, cases of triple talaq are still being reported.

Answering a question in Parliament on Tuesday Law Minister Ravi Shankar told that 248 cases of triple talaq have been recorded so far since the supreme court gave judgement against triple talaq.

And since January 2018 till date 477 cases have been reported by media and other sources. The law minister said the majority of the cases were reported from Uttar Pradesh.
