Governor meets PM Modi, Rajnath Singh

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Governor reportedly briefed the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister on the Law and Order and latest situation in both the Telugu States. Speaking to media persons later, Narasimhan took light of the criticism being done on his functioning by some leaders in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. While Congress leaders have accused Narasimhan of favouring TRS Government, BJP leaders of Andhra Pradesh have accused him of not being fair. Replying to the questions, he said differences between the elders and children in a family were a common thing and therefore, they should not be given high importance. He said he would never discriminate with anyone and perform his duties in a fair and transparent manner.

Narasimhan said most of the issues pertaining to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh have been resolved and the remaining issues too would be resolved in an amicable manner. He said suggestions have been made to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to further strengthen the functioning of Raj Bhavan while making it more accessible to common people. He described the meeting with the Prime Minister as a routine. (INN
