GUARDING RIGHTS OF NEIGHBOURS

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful

Abu Huraira, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said:

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak goodness or remain silent. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his neighbor. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest.

Al-Miqdam ibn al-Aswad, RadhiAllahu Anhu, reported: The Messenger of Allah, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said to his companions:

What do you say about adultery?

They said, “Allah and his messenger have forbidden it, so it is forbidden.” The Prophet, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said:

For a man to commit adultery with ten women is lesser against him than committing adultery with the wife of his neighbor. What do you say about theft?

They said, “Allah and his messenger have forbidden it, so it is forbidden.” The Prophet, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said:

For a man to steal from ten houses is lesser against him than stealing from his neighbor.

The believer is one who is trusted by people. The Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand Muslims are safe. The emigrant is one who emigrates away from evil. By the one in whose hand is my soul, a servant will not enter Paradise if his neighbor is not secure from his harm.
