New Delhi: Anti-Sikh riots were discussed in the 2-day exclusive meeting of Delhi assembly with the 4th phase of Metro. During the debate Chairman, Delhi Waqf Board and Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan lamented that a political leader involved in anti-Sikh riots that followed the assassination of late Indira Gandhi was punished after 34 years. He said delayed justice emboldens the oppressors.

Mr Khan said the politicians then gathered crowds, killed people, burned them alive but the justice came after 34 years. Similarly when the Babri Masjid was demolished nearly 3000 people were killed in Maharashtra. According to the Sri Krishna Commission Report, Shiv Sena, BJP, Congress and Bajrang Dal people were involved in the killings.

Amanatullah Khan claimed had justice been provided to the victims of the 1984 riots and the political leaders were punished, 2002 riots would not have happened, Muslims would not have killed in Gujarat post-Godhra. Amanatullah Khan said had justice been provided to Gujarat victims, Muzaffarnagar riots would not have occurred and BJP and Bajrang Dal people would not have killed Muslims in Muzaffarnagar.
