Hapur lynching: 2nd video shows mob assaults elderly Samiuddin brutally

HAPUR: Days after a 45-year-old Qasim was lynched to death, another chilling video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms.

In the video, 65-year-old Mohammad Samiuddin was brutally beaten and abused by the mob, while he can be seen pleading for mercy.

The 1 minute 8 second video purportedly shows how the Hindutva mob forcing the bleeding Samiuddin and even pulling his beard to confess to having slaughtered a cow.

45-year-old Qasim, a cattle trader by profession, was allegedly lynched by a mob on suspicion of cow slaughter on Wednesday while Samiuddin, a farmer suffered severe injuries in the incident.

Earlier, a photograph of Qasim being dragged by the mob with three policemen in the frame had gone viral on social media. After facing heavy criticism for the picture, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday issued a clarification and apologised for the same.

From the video of the incident it seems that the allegations of cow slaughter as motive behind the act, even as the Hapur Police
denying it a case of rumour-mongering and cattle-related.
