Harish, Tummala to launch irrigation projects on monday

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao will inaugurate several irrigation projects in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam and other districts on October 2.

The ministers will launch the projects, including Kinnerasani to irrigate 10,000 acres, Palem Vagu to irrigate 20,000 acres. As Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed them to complete the project on a wa,r-footing, Harish conducted regular reviews and expedited the process and works of the projects. In a record time, the officials completed modernization works of Paleru old project in four months against 20 months given.

The ministers complimented the officials for speedy completion of the projects. They will release the waters from left canal Kinnerasani in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and release waters from Paleru project on Monday.  The ministers will later address a public meeting in Kusumanchi in the district.

Also the ministers will launch Palem Vagu project that will bring under irrigation 10,132 acres in Venkatapupram and Vajedu mandals. The State government spent Rs 228 crore for completing the works of the project left behind by the Congress government. (NSS
