Haryana Govt Continues Crackdown on Beef, to Inspect Biryani Now

Chandigarh: The Haryana government continues its crackdown on beef consumption.

The Manohar Lal Khattar government will now carry out inspections of eateries and vendors who serve Biryani to ensure no outlet is serving beef.
The inspection drives will start from Mewat – a predominantly Muslim district.

Haryana was one of the first states in the country to ban beef consumption.

Former transport minister Aftab Ahmed said that this was a deliberate move by the state government to defame the Muslim community.
