Hashimpura massacre: PAC Jawans to surrender in Tis Hazari Court tomorrow

Meerut: The 16 PAC Jawans convicted in Hashimpura massacre will surrender in Tis Hazari Court on November 22. The Supreme Court and high court have prepared the surrender files under the supervision of 3 senior advocates. As per the high court order, all the PAC Jawans were given the option to surrender in Meerut as well but the Jawans decided in Delhi because they don’t want police to trouble their families and pressurize for their arrest.

The PAC men sentenced in the Hashimpura massacre case of 1987 will have to surrender before the court on or before 22 November if they fail to do so they will be arrested.

Delhi High Court sentenced the Sixteen PAC personnel to life in prison after they were found guilty of killing members of the minority community in Hashimpura. The court directed them to surrender on or before 22 November.

On 22 May 1987, in the infamous Hashimpura shootout took place in which the 16 PAC personnel shot dead 42 persons of the minority community in Muradnagar.
