Heard’s attorney slams Johnny Depp for GQ interview

Washington: A representative of Amber Heard has slammed Johnny Depp’s interview with GQ in which the actor denied physically abusing his ex-wife Heard.

Calling the interview outrageous, Heard’s attorney said that GQ never spoke to any of the multiple witnesses to Depp’s physical abuse of Heard before publishing its article.

“It (GQ) would have quickly realized that his statements are entirely untrue. Mr. Depp has blatantly disregarded the parties’ confidentiality agreement and yet has refused to allow Ms.Heard to respond to his baseless allegations, despite repeated requests that she be allowed to do so.” Heard’s attorney added, reported Page Six.

In the British GQ piece, Depp had claimed that police couldn’t find a sign of abuse on her body, even though the leaked video of the alleged counter suggested otherwise to some. He said, “I mean, they spoke to the police, but the police saw nothing and they offered her an emergency medical technician.

She said no. Police saw nothing on her, no marks, and then they offered her an EMT to have a look at her and she says no and I don’t know if it was the next day or a couple of days later, but then there was a bruise. There was a red mark and then there was a brown bruise.”

During the interview, the 55-year-old agreed that he has been physical towards the paparazzi, but to say he would hurt someone he loves “couldn’t even sound like me.”

The former Hollywood couple settled their divorce in 2017 and Depp agreed to pay around 7 million USD, however, Heard ended up donating the money to a charity.

They even issued a joint statement during the time of their divorce, saying, “Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm.”
