Heat wave continues in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave continued in Odisha with eight places recording above 40 degree Celsius on Saturday.

While western Odisha boiled under the scorching summer, the coastal belt reeled under sultry weather conditions with humidity level crossing 90 percent mark. Bolangir recorded maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius followed by Bhawani Patna at 43, Titlagarh at 42.5 and Jharsuguda at 41.6 degrees. Both Sambalpur and Sundergarh registered 41 degrees Celsius, said Bhubaneswar met department.

The capital city recorded below 40 degree temperature but the humidity touched 95 percent.

The met department said the heat wave would continue in the state till May end.
