Heavy rains from Tomorrow

Hyderabad: Southwest Monsoon has been weak over Telangana and Hyderabad. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad predicts a positive forecast and suggests that relief may be on its way.

According to IMD Hyderabad officials., “Very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the isolated regions of Telangana post-July 18. As mainly low-level strong westerly winds prevail over the state which is very likely to bring heavy rain.”

Up until June 18, a light downpour can be witnessed in Hyderabad, while there might be an occurrence of light to heavy rain in the districts particularly in Khammam and Bhadrachalam for an upper air Trough is extending from Odisha up to North Andhra Pradesh is intensifying.

On Tuesday, LB Nagar witnessed the highest rainfall of 40.8 mm followed by 33.3 mm at Gachibowli which, yet again, disturbed the regular pace of life in the city.

Statewide report of Telangana State Development and Planning Society suggest moderate rainfall across the state, highest of which was 53.8 mm recorded at Keshampet in Rangareddy District followed by 53.0 at Gadwal.

According to a private forecast company weather.com as on Tuesday, Hyderabad faces a rainfall deficit of 18 percent, and state shows a deficit of 36 percent. The city has received 149.6 mm, compared to the long-term average of 180 mm. mohammedhussain.reporter@gmail.com
