Height of helplessness: Woman sells newborn son to afford elder son’s treatment

Dhanbad: A tragic incident occurred in Jharkhand, where a woman sold her younger child to arrange money for the treatment of her elder child. The tragic news was published by News 18 on its web portal. According to the portal, the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Bankmod police station, Dhanbad. Hina Parveen the resident of Wasaypur needed Rs. 15000 for the treatment of her 6-year-old son. She and her husband could not arrange money. A man named Javeed suggested selling her 2-month-old son. At first, Hina refused the offer but later she accepted it and sold her newborn son to a childless couple of Gaya, Bihar at Rs. 20000. The couple adopted the child by signing the stamp paper and went to their native district.

Later Hina’s motherhood arose and she wanted her son back. She took a loan to get back her son. She says even if she has to pay Rs. 25000 instead of Rs. 20000 she is ready to pay, but want her son back at any cost. She reached Dhanbad court and took advice from the lawyer.

It must be noted that neither Indian law nor Muslim Personal Law Board permits adoption permission to Muslims.
