Here’s how much a return trip to Mars would cost in future according to Elon Musk

CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk’s prestigious SpaceX project could help a man walk on Mars. He had earlier unveiled the pictures of a retro-looking, steely rocket called Starship that may carry people to the Moon and Mars.

In a usual Twitter chatter, in a response to a tweet asking the estimated costs for tickets to Moon or Mars accounting for reusability, Mr Musk replied that the costs will depend on the number of travellers.

However, he said he was confident that moving to Mars will one day would cost less than $500,000 or even lesser than $100,000, inclusive of a return ticket when SpaceX’s mission goes live.

To make the ride affordable SpaceX has focused on making its rocket technology reusable.

“If all goes well the prices will be low enough that most people in advanced economies could sell their home on earth and move to mars if they want,” he said.
