Here’s why police interrupted R. Kelly’s birthday party

Washington: Chicago police interrupted American singer R. Kelly’s birthday party on Tuesday when police received a false call about a warrant out for singer’s arrest.

Chicago police confirmed that after receiving “a call of a person wanted” cops swept into action and “made contact” with the ‘Ignition’ singer at 1:01 in the morning on Thursday, PEOPLE reported.
According to TMZ, the incident took place at V75 Chicago at a local nightclub.

After knowing Kelly’s name, they crosschecked his name through their systems and they determined that there was no warrant out for the songwriter, so no arrests and charges were made.

A video obtained by TMZ, recorded by a bystander during the birthday party, the 52-year-old singer was humming his hits along with his friends.

Further, according to the clip, he said: “make some m- noise” to people who gathered there to cheer him up.

“Y’all m- don’t know it’s my m- birthday and I don’t give a f- what’s going on tonight,” he added.
Moreover, Kelly was also seen drinking and smoking a cigar.

Currently, the ‘Bump n’ grind’ singer is under investigation in the state of Georgia for holding his daughter, Joycelyn Savage, against her will.
