High court cancelled Preity Zinta molestation case against Ness Wadia

Actor Preity Zinta who filed a molestation case against industrialist Ness Wadia in 2014 was cancelled by the Bombay High Court. The decision of the court comes two days after it had suggested the actor to consider “finishing off” the case.

An advocate of Preity Zinta had told the court that the actor is willing to settle the matter if Ness Wadia is ready to apologise. But, however, Ness Wadia’s lawyer said the industrialist was not ready to apologise.

Justice Ranjit More had said, “just finish it off now,” the court, which was hearing Ness Wadia’s petition seeking the case be dropped, had then suggested the parties settle the matter.

The incident had taken place at Wankhede Stadium on May 30, 2014, during a Kings XI Punjab vs Chennai Super Kings match. Ness was allegedly abusing the team staff over ticket distribution when Preity was seated in the Garware Pavilion.

When she asked him to calm down, he abused and manhandled her by grabbing her arm, she claimed. To support this claim, she submitted four photographs to the police, showing ‘bruise-like’ marks on her right arm.

Preity then changed her seat, but her ordeal did not end. She was allegedly verbally abused again by Ness here, as well. He also abused her on the ground in front of their team members.
