High Court issues stay order against the construction of road on Toli Masjid Wakf land

Hyderabad: Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of Hyderabad High Court issued stay order for two weeks against the construction of a road on wakf land belonging to Toli Masjid.

This order was passed on 26th June on the petition filed by Mr. Osman bin Mohammed al Hajri. MD of Hyderabad Road Development Corporation and TS Wakf Board were made the parties.

The advocate of the petitioner informed High Court that the construction work of the road at Moghal ka Nala, Puranapul is illegal since the land belongs to Wakf Board. A letter was sent by TS Wakf Board to Commissioner of GHMC on 10th May 2018 in which the then CEO of Wakf Board had explained that the said land belongs to Wakf Board. He had quoted that as per the gazette notification published on 12th March 1985 at page 12 A of the Gazette, the land admeasuring 27 acre and 30 guntas belongs to Wakf Board.

Despite, injunction orders of Hyderabad High Court, the construction work was in progress.
