Despite being fluent in English Imran Khan by taking oath in Urdu proved that he wants to bring change on every front. It must be noted that generally, the Prime Ministers of Pakistan have been taking oath in English.
The second important aspect of his oath-taking ceremony was that his wife Bushra Maneka attended the programme in complete hijab. Though Imran Khan’s name was linked with modern ladies, like Sita White, Zeenat Aman, Jemima Khan and Reham Khan in the past, Bushra Maneka’s presence in swearing-in ceremony with complete hijab indicates that Imran Khan’s life has undergone a sea change. Hope the change is also witnessed in Indo-Pak ties.
The third aspect worth mentioning was the presence of versatile personality former Indian cricketer, commentator, TV artist and political leader Navjot Singh Sidhu at the swearing-in ceremony. Though his attendance sparked a lot of controversies back home.
