The Role
A fantastic opportunity exists with what we consider the leading structural steel fabrication and installation firm in the GCC. With a track record in the major building and civil construction sectors as well as the oil and gas and industrial sector the company has a very healthy order book and an increasing ‘work in hand’ stretching throughout 2017 and into 2018.

The company is looking to install a Chief Designer to oversee and lead its multi-national and multi-cultural design team. Other key functions include overseeing and managing the production of design programmes; allocating and managing resources; recruitment of design team members; out-sourcing design work depending on work load.

Requirements
Any applicants must be engineering degree qualified with a minimum of 12 years post graduate experience working in structural steel fabrication with a minimum of 4 years in at least a ‘Lead Engineer’ capacity. Must be competent in both main frame analysis and design and connection design.Must be able to communicate effectively and be able to hold high level discussion to develop principles of design with Client Engineers. Will be familiar with temporary works design and fully conversant with Euro / British / US codes of practise as well as having a strong understanding of all international codes.

Must be fully conversant with design programmes such as STAAD/Pro among others as well as having strong computer literacy with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products.
