HIV scare creates exodus in UP’s Unnao

Bangarmau (Unnao): The residents of Unnao villages are living under fear of HIV prevalence and planning to relocate to other village.

According to the news reported in times of India, Mukesh’s (name changed) elder sister from Premganj is set to be married to a man from neighbouring district Hardoi. But, now the groom’s family had stopped responding to calls made by Mukesh’s family and finally they confirmed that they called off the match.

Similarly, in other incident, Shivam (name changed) and his mother have been isolated by the relatives, even though they tested negative for HIV.

The spread of news related to HIV became viral and people are isolating residents from Unnao villages after the fake doctors used tainted syringes which led to 46 people infected with HIV.

The Chief Medical Officer of Unnao confirmed that there is no need to panic and the administration is trying to create awareness among the villagers related to HIV spread by organising Nukkad-natak programmes.
