Hong Kong, Shanghai end morning with more sharp gains

Hong Kong: Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks extended their rally Friday, with optimism boosted by Donald Trump’s tweet that he had held positive talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping that included trade.

The Hang Seng Index jumped 2.40 percent, or 610.18 points, to 26,026.18, building on gains of more than three percent in the previous three trading days.

The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.21 percent, or 31.42 points, to 2,637.65.
