Hong Kong stocks rally at open

Hong Kong:Hong Kong stocks surged at the open of trade Thursday, after falling for six days, following a report that US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin had reached out to China to hold trade talks.

The Hang Seng Index jumped 1.72 percent, or 453.35 points, to 26,798.39.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.87 percent, or 23.10 points, to 2,679.21, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.86 percent, or 12.09 points, to 1,415.69.
