Hotel fired its robot staff for slacky job, 243 robots now jobless!

Japan’s Henn-na Hotel, also known as Japan’s robot hotel expected that its robot staff will entertain guests and make daily work easier. However, the opposite happened and robots ended up losing their jobs.

According to the report published in the Cnet, in 2015 the hotel hired its first robot staff and became the most efficient hotel in the world, but now the team of 243 robots became less of a novelty and more of a problem.

Robots were not able to perform some of the most basic work which led to their expulsion, almost half of them got fired. Guests complained that the virtual assistant robot Churi who would wake then up over snoring or interrupt conversations.

Among the fired robot staff were animatronic dinosaur check-in robots, robot dancers in the lobby, humanoid concierge robots and bellhop robots who carried luggage.
