Huge public meetings will not ensure victory to political parties: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Stating that the conditions were different when TDP was evolved when compared present situation, TPCC working president said that they have no objection to entering into an alliance with the TDP in Telangana state. He informed that several political parties were in touch for the poll alliance.

In a chitchat with journos in Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Bhatti said the alliances in the State were possible as the alliances across the nation became inevitable. Reacting on TRS party’s ‘Pragathi Nivedhana’ public meeting to be held on September 2, Bhatti opined that thinking of victory with huge public meetings was sheer ignorance.

Reminding Congress party’s huge public meeting in 1994 at Eluru, Bhatti said then Chief Minister Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy surprised while seeing the huge public attendance as roads were jammed up to Waira. But in 1994 elections, the Congress party had won mere 26 seats, Bhatti added.
