Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner withdraw divorce case

Washington: Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin and disgraced former lawmaker Anthony Weiner have withdrawn their pending divorce case.

“Abedin was scheduled to appear in Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon for a compliance conference in their contested divorce. Instead, one of her attorneys submitted paperwork signed by both parties agreeing to end the case,” said a court source, reported Fox News.

The judge then announced the case was “discontinued,” the source added.

Charles Miller, Abedin’s attorney, in a statement, said: “In order to ensure the proceedings have a minimal impact on their child, the parties have decided to attempt to reach a settlement swiftly and privately.”

The Clinton aide had filed for a split in May 2017 after her husband “pleaded guilty to sexting with a minor”.

Weiner was sentenced to prison for 21 months in November last year. (ANI)
