Hyderabad: A ten-year-old boy drowned in a well at Manikeshwara Nagar near OU Arts College on Monday.
As per reports, the victim, Mohd Shakir was a VI class student. He had come to visit his relatives’ house when the incident took place.
Though the local residents tried to rescue the boy, they could not save him.
After the incident, an NGO Balahakkula Sangam registered its protest with OU authorities and demanded to give Rs. 10 lakh compensation to the bereaved family.
The body has been sent for autopsy at Gandhi Hospital and a case has been registered, confirmed SHO, Osmania University police station.
