Hyderabad: 23 YO held in extortion case

HYDERABAD: On Saturday, the Rachakonda Special Operation Team and Nacharam Police caught a 23-year-old for threatening and attempting to extort money from a businessman.

According to the report published in TOI, the accused identified as Bhukya Krishna Naik alias Kittu. He made extortion calls pretending to be a Maoist by the name of Sudhakar Anna and demanded 20 lakh from a businessman, who was known to him.

Rachakonda Police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said, “On March 10, he called the victim, pretending to be a Maoist and threatened him to kill him and his family members if he failed to pay the money and also warned him not to approach the police.”

The accused damaged the SIM, which he has stolen from the customer of his friend’s mobile repair shop soon after he realized that the victim had approached the police.
He was traced through the call data and was arrested on Saturday by the Rachakonda Sleuths.
