Hyderabad: Police arrested a woman cheater who used to deceive youths in the name of marriage.
According to the report of the police, Archana (30), a resident of Nellore was residing in a hostel at Begumpet.
Her modus operandi was that she used to post her beautiful photographs on Telugu matrimonial website with fake name and profession. She used to contact NRIs only. Later, she used to get their phone numbers and slowly knit the conspiracy.
In one such complaint which police received on 18th May this year, she cheated a software engineer residing in US. She requested him to send Rs. 1.5 lakh for purchasing a platinum coloured Sari and other articles. Later, she ceased contacts.
After receiving complaints, police traced her out and arrested. Police also reported that earlier, Archana was in jail for 5 months. She was released in December last year. Later, she started cheating the youths.
