Hyderabad: 33 Auto drivers sans licence booked

Hyderabad: In continuation of “Safety of School Children” campaign on June 23, Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a special drive on Autos and other vehicles carrying school children in the entire Hyderabad City.

In the special drive, 945 Autos, 70 vans and five school buses were checked in city and 358 cases were booked. While 33 drivers were found driving vehicles without license, 34 vehicles were seized. All auto drivers, who drove the vehicles without DL and Top Violation will be chargesheeted in the Court and may get imprisonment along with fine. Their Driving Licenses also may be suspended for a certain period or permanently.

Traffic Cops informed about the dangerous way of transporting of children to the parents of School Children and counseled them not to send their children in vehicles, which violate Traffic Rules.

Hyderabad Traffic Police request all the Parents of school children not to send their children in a vehicle carrying more than the seating capacity. Transporting Children in overloaded vehicle is clear violation of Traffic rules. This endangers the lives of children.

Hyderabad Traffic Police request the parents to check the validity of documents viz., Driving License of Driver, Registration Certificate, Insurance Certificate and Fitness Certificate of vehicles before sending children to Schools. Please verify the antecedents/behavior of driver. Safety of your children is our prime concern. This drive will continue in the city. (NSS)
