Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills Police arrested 5 persons including the niece of the victim.
DCP of West Zone Police, Mr. A. R. Srinivas informed that Manjula had purchased properties along with her uncle, P. Dayachari who was an ex-IAS Officer at her native place Guntur and Patancheruvu but later, they developed conflict.
Manjula and her brother Karunakar made an attempt to resolve the issue but failed to do so. Karunakar had threatened the former IAS officer of dire consequences if the matter is not resolved.
As per the conspiracy, Manjula and Karunakar planned to kill Dayachari for which they consulted their business partner Venkateshwara Rao of Vijayawada. They promised him to give a handsome amount for killed their uncle. They gave Rs. 15000 as advance. Last month, Venkateshwara Rao and Karunakar came to Hyderabad from Vijayawada. They contacted a person by name, Naresh and gave him the photograph of the former officer with a contract to kill him. On 3rd April, Naresh, Ashok, Sagar and Ayappa came to Hyderabad, hired a room in hotel Minarva at Kondapur and bought a cricket wicket to commit the crime. On 5th April, the accused targeted P. Dayachari when he was walking in the morning. In this attack, Dayachari received deep wound on his head.
Police arrested the accused and seized the wicket used in the attack. They were produced in the court of law. The magistrate sent them to jail.
