After Hyderabad, Bengaluru becomes the second city in India with Internet speeds up to 1 GB per second

Karnataka: Bengaluru had joined the city of leagues across the world with Internet speeds of up to 1 GB per second.

ACT Fibernet with 1.25 million subscribers, ranks third among wired Internet service providers in India, had launched the service and said that, after Hyderabad, the second city in India to step up to this speed is now Bengaluru. With this speed, it came on par with Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore and cities in the US.

The city on Wednesday joined an elite league of cities across the world enjoying Internet speeds of up to 1 GB per second.

Bala Malladi, Atria Convergence Technologies CEO, told reporters that “The company expects entrepreneurs and small office-home office (SOHO) users to subscribe to the service, available for Rs 5, 999.”

He further added that the service would help startups in the areas of augmented reality, virtual reality and Internet of Things (IoT).

Existing customers can upgrade to the Giga plan, as ACT calls it, for an installation fee of Rs 2,500. New customers pay Rs 5,000. There is also another monthly plan which comes at Rs 15,000 is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises.
