Hyderabad: In an incident which occurred at Bachupally area, a minor boy, Mahesh accidentally crushed by a tractor when Ganesh idol was being taken for immersion.
The boy was witnessing the scene along with his parents. He accidentally fell down and came under the tractor which was carrying Ganesh idol. The boy died on the spot.
Commissioner of Police visits old city to review security arrangements
Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, Mr. M. Mahender Reddy visited Old City and exchanged views with the police officials. He also talked to the organizers of Ganesh Mandaps in Lalita Bagh, Uppuguda, Lal Darwaza, Moghalpura, Gowlipura, Husaini Alam, Puranapul etc.
He appealed to the organizers of Ganesh Mandaps to maintain peace and see that Ganesh idols are taken out at the appropriate time from their places.
It may be mentioned that in the Old City of Hyderabad, 2000 Ganesh idols were installed. In the Central Ganesh Processions, 983 Ganesh idols would participate.
Talking to media reporters, Mr. Mahender Reddy told that 24000 police personnel have been deployed for making arrangements. Masajid, Dargahs and Chillas coming in the way of Ganesh procession would be covered and police personnel would be posted at important spots.
