Hyderabad: Case booked for attacking Old City man during Ram Nawami procession

HYDERABAD: A 30 year-old man was manhandled by unknown miscreants during Ram Navami procession in Hyderabad.

According to a report published in Times of India, on 5 April, the victim, Mohammed Chand was on his way from Jumerat Bazaar when a group of miscreants attacked him.

Upon getting information, the Shahinayatgunj police rushed the site of the incident and without more ado move the victim to hospital for treatment and registered a case against unknown miscreants.

“We have registered a case against unknown persons who attacked Mohammed Chand,” said Shahinayatgunj inspector M Ravinder Reddy to TOI.

In another incident, Abids police received a complaint of alleged desecration of a place of worship during the Shobha Yatra. There was a mild flutter on Wednesday night after the miscreants sprinkled colour at a place of worship.

There was as many 96 small processions taken out on Wednesday in the Old City on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami, with 22 rallies alone from the Falaknuma division limits.
