Hyderabad: The Legal Metrology Department took serious action on complaints of tampering, adulteration, shortage of fuel in petrol bunks. On receiving several complaints from people, Legal Metrology Department officials conducted surprise checks on petrol bunks statewide on Friday.
About 70 petrol bunks were raided across the state and cases were booked against 10 petrol bunks. 7 bunks were booked for short delivery of fuel and 3 bunks for non- renewal of license.
In Greater Hyderabad region, Assistant Controller Jaganmohan and team raided Fortune Fuel HPC petrol bunk at Uppal IDPL and found shortage of diesel about 300 ML in five liters. Case was booked against the petrol bunk.
Cases were booked on petrol bunks at Medchal – 1, Sircilla – 2, Bhongir – 1, Suryapet – 1, Bhadrachalam – 1, Hyderabad – 1, Nirmal – 2, Medak – 1.(NSS)
