Hyderabad: Cold wave intensifies, mercury falls to 9°C – Here’re the tips to stay warm

Hyderabad: Cold wave in the city is getting intensified very rapidly. In the next few days, it is likely to increase. In various areas of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the temperature is being recorded at 12-15 degree Celsius in the late hours of the night.

According to Met. Office report, the reason for the intensity of the cold wave is a rapid change of weather.

In the adjoining areas of Hyderabad, like Patancheru, Maula Ali, Uppal, Bandlaguda, Shamsabad, Aramghar, Attapur, LB Nagar, Hayatnagar, BHEL, Ramanthapur and other areas, the temperature is being recorded as 9 degree Celsius in the late night hours.

In the densely populated areas of the city, the intensity of the cold wave is not being felt but in the adjoining areas, cold waves are creating difficulty for the citizens.

Expert doctors say that cold wave is injurious to health. They advise people not to come out of their houses without wearing warm clothes.

In many areas of the city, workers working in the late hours are seen lighting fire to keep their bodies warm.

Met. Office reported that the intensity of the cold wave will continue till the end of this month. Change of weather could be witnessed from the 2nd week of January.

Here are the tips to stay warm to beat cold

  • Do exercise early in the morning
  • Take foods which keep you warm
  • Wear warm clothes which should be of dark colour.
  • Protect your extreme parts of the body like hands, feet, nose, head etc with warm garments
  • Avoid going out late at nights
