Hyderabad: Recently two law students from prestigious Nalsar University have been arrested for possessing Ganja.
Yuvaraj Ratan Mehra and Arvind Kumar Tiwari, second-year law students of Nalsar University, were recently arrested when they were caught red-handed carrying ganja to their Hostel.
On interrogation by the Police, it was revealed by the students that they were introduced to the drug by their seniors and that they have been into using it since the past one year. The arrested students also claimed that they purchased Ganja from Dhoolpet which comes under Hyderabad Police Commissionerate making Hyderabad cops swinging into action.
Inspector D. Bhaskar Reddy, Shameerpet police station said, “We are probing whether they were selling it in the university. As a precautionary measure, we will organize an awareness camp after consulting the university authorities.” The police are also looking into the arrested students call logs.
Shameerpet police plan to conduct awareness program on hazardous effects of drug use for University students.
