Hyderabad: Cricket betting rackets busted

Hyderabad: Task Force Team of Central Zone of Hyderabad City Police busted two rackets of cricket betting in Saifabad and Shah Inayat Gunj Police Station Areas. The police raided the centers and arrested four agents.

It is reported that during the IPL season, Manoj Bathi, resident of Begum Bazar and Radha Sham Rathi were receiving bets in their houses for the cricket match held between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI.

On receiving information, the Task Force Team raided the houses of accused persons at Choraha Jinsi, Begumbazar and Basheer Bagh. The Police arrested the accused persons and seized Rs. 76000 from their possession. The Police arrested Vinit Mantri and G. Arun Kumar who were accepting bets through mobile phone for IPL Cricket matches. The task force team seized Rs. 84000, mobile phones, a TV set and other articles from their possession. The Task Force Team handed over the accused persons to Saifabad Police Station for taking further action.
