A degree student had attempted to rob an ATM under Meerpet police station limits and has been arrested by the police on Thursday. CCTV footage has helped the police nab the accused.
G. Sravan Kumar, 22, a degree student and a resident of RN Reddy Colony in Meerpet has been identified by the Meerpet police. According to the police, the accused tried to break open an Axis bank ATM near TKR college and steal money on Monday night.
According to the report published in the DC, he then tried opening the ATM again at VV Nagar in Saroornagar.
“The Axis Bank staff situated in Mumbai noticed the suspicious moments and sent the CCTV footage to the police. Taking lead from the CCTV footage, the police succeeded in nabbing the student,” said N. Yadaiah inspector of police.
The police have registered a case under Section 380 of IPC and further investigation is underway.
