Hyderabad DEO appeals all to increase polling percentage

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner and Hyderabad District Electoral Officer (DEO) M. Dana Kishore has appealed all the representatives of all the Political Parties and citizens to join hands with the election officials to increase the percentage of polling compared to previous elections.

The DEO, while interacting with the representatives of the political parties, said that publication of electoral rolls and the information relating to the electoral rolls have been sent to all the political parties and the number of additions, deletions, inclusion of new voters and other ongoing process of the procedures have been explained by the DEO to the Political Parties and requested to cooperate with the Election Officials to following the prescribed instructions by the ECI to follow the model code of conduct etc., during the elections.

He requested the representatives of the Political Parties on par with Booth Level Officers they may also appoint Booth Level Agents from their parties so as to have proper interaction with the BLOs to perform their duties in a more appropriate way and after appointing the BLAs there will be a training to both the BLOs and BLAs for the said purpose.

Dana Kishore requested the Political Parties to obtain the necessary permissions before 48 hours for the conduct of meetings, Padayathras etc., as such the concerned ROs will issue the permission within 24 hours for the same. The ECI has provided E-Suvidha service to the political parties to represent their applications, grievances etc., through online without any inconvenience.

The provision of C-vigil is also available for the citizens/voters whoever identify any cases pertaining to model code of conduct they can take the video with all necessary details can be posted to the C-vigil where the concerned election authorities will look in to it and an action will be initiated on priority and informing the applicant about the action taken.

Some of the representatives of the political parties have submitted their representation with regard to issue of voter slips, issues with regard to conduct of Padayathras and various other related to model code of conduct where the DEO assured the representatives that every care will be taken to sort out the issues on priority.

The DEO said that all the ROs / AROs and senior officials appointed by the ECI have reported and one or two officers are to be transferred as per the ECI guidelines and all the ROs etc., will be appointed by 17th of this month. Around 23,000 staff is needed for the election work and the officials have started the process contacting various Govt., departments to depute the staff for the ensuing elections.

Hyderabad Joint Collector & Nodal Officer for Model Code of Conduct Ravi has explained in detail about the model code of conduct in case of any problems the representatives may contact the concerned ROs, AROs to know the information with clear clarity.
