Hyderabad: Dowry harassment takes another life

Hyderabad: In yet another case of dowry harassment, a woman consumed poison. This incident took place on Thursday.

According to the report published in The Hans India, the 34-year-old woman, a resident of Tarnaka committed suicide due to the harassment of in-laws.

As per the details of the incident, Nagamani (34), a Village Revenue Assistant at Thirmulgherry MRO had got married to Maruthi Kumar in 2014.

At the time of marriage, Rs. 2 lakh and gold ornament worth Rs.1 lakh was given as dowry. However, after marriage, her in-laws were allegedly demanding more dowry.

It is also reported that Maruthi was allegedly forcing Nagamani to get Rs. 7 lakh for treatment their son.

Vexed with the harassment, Nagamani consumed poison. She died during the treatment at the hospital.

It may be mentioned that Maruthi is a software engineer employed in London.

Police registered a case and started investigation.
