Hyderabad: A son enraged at her mother being thrashed by his father regularly for no reason or rhyme killed him in Jagiratanagar, Bandlaguda, Hyderabad.
According to sources Shaikh Mastani, a 55-year-old labourer from Khammam, was staying at Rayadurgam area. He had migrated along with his family from his native place to Hyderabad in search of work some time back. He had begun working as a watchman at an apartment building in Rayadurgam.
Police said Shaikh Mastani was a habitual drunkard. Returning drunk from work in the night, he used to beat up his wife almost every day. On Wednesday night he came home drunk and began thrashing his wife. His young son could not stand the painful wailing of his mother. He took a wooden rod and hit his father on his head. The seriously injured Mastani was rushed to a hospital by the police that had arrived on a complaint lodged by the neighbours. Mastani died in the hospital.
The police have registered a case against the son and took him into custody.
