Hyderabad: GHMC official held by ACB sleuths

HYDERABAD: On Friday, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested an Assistant Engineer (AE) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

According to the Times Of India report, a private contractor lodged a complaint against the official. Acting on it, the team laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed when he is accepting Rs 40,000 as a bribe at Government Primary School, Hafiz Baba Nagar, Chandrayangutta.

The ACB official said that the contractor had laid a CC road near Sabeel-us-Salam at Salala, Barkas which comes under Kanchanbagh Division.

“The GHMC official demanded a bribe for recording road work in the measurement book (M-Book), so the contractor gets paid,” he added.
